My Eheim 2213 has developed a leak on the hose coupling at the top of the pump. Basically when i'm turning the grey clamp it doesn't seem to bite into the hose like on every other clamp in my system (using double taps).

I've wrapped it up in PTFE tape for now but it's dripping every few seconds, i've tried everything to get it to seal but it won't.

Anyone had the same issue? Any cures?

I'm half tempted to bin it and get an Ecco or Pro 2222 but need a fix in the short term.

Cheers

Steve

Try cutting the hose back a few inches where the leaky join is, sometimes the hose hardens into shape and the screw collar has trouble biting into the hose. If not the collar itself might have worn and need to be replaced, any good Eheim stockist will be able to get you one and many will even have them in stock.

Grrrrrrrrrr

Tried a new collar last night, still leaking!!

So I got the PTFE tape out again and wrapped the threads, tightened collar up and then wrapped the outside of the collar in tape.

To my disbelief water was still being slowly forced out through the joint!

So with my holiday fast approaching I decided it was best to go get another filter and keep the 2213 as a back up.

I got an Ecco 2232 from Wharfaquatics and they were even kind enough to demonstrate the operation process, and showed me
how to go about not breaking the handle!
