i finally got a 2180 pro 3 imported from germany so i thought id give ppl my thoughts on it as i dont think anyone else on here has one yet i may be wrong though :)

first thing i noticed about it was its huge size this filter is bigger than some pond filters ive seen! ill put some pictures up at the end of this post where it will be next to an aqua qube 40 and an eheim 2128 proII just so ppl can compare the actual size to something they might know of :good:

ive actually had to cut a hole in my stand to fit it underneath the tank it really is that big! one the pictures it is sat on the floor not the stand i have to stress that!

the flow rate on this filter is quite phenominal its enough to push your hand back very easily ill assume the 2080 is the same.

the main problem i had was getting both inlets to fill up they just didnt want to do it no matter what i tried! inthe end ive had to put both inlets right next to each other and made one longer and the other short so at least there pulling water from different levels if nothing else :)

ive only had the filter fully set up for 2 hours or so but the i can see a difference in the water already ill post again tomorrow when its had a good amount of running time :good:

What size tank did you buy it for?

a 6x2x2 more than twice the needed filtration :good:

hi mate. it really is a monster! 8)
any chance you can post up a piccy of the big tank it's filtering. it would be interesting to see how the hoses are set up.
:good:

well ill let it clean up the mess i made redecorating the tank first  all 3 r on the same side the 2 inlets right next to each other wouldnt work with them apart dunno why might of been me who knows its working and thats enough for me :good:

Whats the gph, and if you dont mind how much did it cost (general range) ?
I am also planning on getting a bigger tank, 72"36"24" so filters are really the most important thing, and that looks like one heck of a filter.
Lucky you have one!

Nice filter MojoDex, ive got the 2080 and I wish I had the 2180 instead!. I had the same problem as you priming the 2080-making water run down both inlets. If you keep pushing the plunger down 10+ times before its running and then after its runniing it should work fine. Ive got 1 inlet on each corner of my tank.

it cost me 358 euros about £240which for this filter is WAY cheaper than i could ever get it over here certainly since its not out in the UK yet :good:

i dont know the gph but i know the littres per hour and thats 1700 :good:

they are big filters aint they
i was surprised when i got my one delivered(not the thermo one)
i was lucky it only fitted under the tank with a few inches to spare
