Hey all,
Found roughly 30 ish eggs today, didnt witness any spawning since I was out the whole day, maybe thats why they spawned cos i wasn't there to stare them down like always :p
I think they are from the Orange Lasers but could possibly come from the Nattereri, I don't believe the gossei are large enough to spawn.

Have removed the eggs to a separate container where they are on air. Let's hope they are fertile :)

:hyper: Hope they're the Orange laser. That would be brilliant.

Keep us updated and good luck.

:good:

My Green lasers spawned too! Aren't we just somethun'!

I have to read up, Kuhni. I have heard rummors that the babies are difficult, so they may need some special conditions. Let's stay in touch.

Wow, good luck to the pair of you.
Wish you were over here in the UK cos I'd be after the offspring if you succeed in raising the cuties. :good:

Maybe Kuhni will be able to do that, Cory_Dad, but mine are mixed in a net with lots of Java moss and simulatus eggs, too. The tank the greens are in has silulatus which have spawned for sure and caudamaculatus. I don't know what the caudamaculatus eggs liik like so I will not know what babies are what for a long time. So far in the past I have not gotten any fry from my simulatus eggs. I have not tried hard. This time I got a goodly batch. I don't know how many of the greens' eggs--not lots.

Kuhni will probably be more detailed and consistant than me. So I am looking forward to his reports.

I have heard now that they are fairly easy to raise. The fry are a larger variety fry and hardy. Very good news!

The development of the eggs seems good, they have darkened and appear to be gaining a dark centre.

would like to report that I had another spawn today :D A Good 150 or so eggs with the majority being on the front glass, once again I'm not sure which corys it was though but judging by the laying pattern, I assume it was the Orange Lasers due to the typical "Aeneus" group laying pattern.

Great pics! Good news Kuhni!

Mine are in a tank heavy with moss, so they were scattered in the moss with just a few on the glass. They also were similar to aeneus eggs.

Just beautiful!

Thank you for the pictures.

Now that you have set the precedent I am expecting new pictures every day... ;)

While the Peru Stripes are classified as an aeneus strain, Ian once said he considers them to be closer to melantoneia.

The eggs from first batch have begun to hatch, 4 days since they were laid. Around 10 wrigglers at present, about 4mm.
These eggs have been very hardy and a great experience for my first successful spawn. None have developed fungus and with a very high fertility rate, with only perhaps 1 in 10 appearing to be infertile.
