Ok so, I am really sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it. If it ahs please show me the link and I will be happy to take it from there!
I've just looked in on my two female bettas and they are both HUGE!! I can't tell if they are just fat and they have eaten too much or if they are carrying eggs (if so......what do I do?!?!?!?!) or if it's something else.
They've just had some bloodworm (from frozen) but incase they are constipated, which I doubt, I have given them some shelled pea as well.
They were looking quite lethargic and resting on their huge bellies but now are a bit more active.
I am truly sorry if this is over the top and paranoid but that's me!!!
They had a water change yesterday and stats should be perfect.
If it is at all relevant I had to clean the male betta tanks out today and the small tank I normally put them in developed a huge crack in the bottom and is no longer suitable so they ended up in a breeding tank inside the main community tank that has the females in.......... please don't yell at me this was all I could do at the time and they were ignored and perfectly safe, I'm getting a new tank for cleaning jobs tomorrow!!
They are all fed on a variety of food including, frozen bloodworms, tetra betta flakes (can't get betta pellets here) tubifex worms - freeze dried, cucumber, courgette, peas (they get fresh veg twice a week and frozen food twice a week)
I'm TERRIFIED of them becoming egg bound so please help!!
Thanks guys! xxx
