Can anyone give me some advice as to how I can combat egg fungus?
I have a pair of keyholes that spawn every 2 weeks but I have yet to see any hatch.
After about 24hrs after spawning they one by one start to turn white and usually are all gone by morning.
I am assuming the eggs are being eaten due to fungus.
The pair are the only two fish in the tank.
Its just getting a little frustrating after the joy of seeing them lay.
Any help and advice will be very welcome.

Hey Gragam You may use Methylene Blue to help fend off fungus and bacteria. Though i have never had too use it i would look up how much to dose. im sure you can pick this up at a LFS.

Also check to see if you can use it with the parents in there.

hey ive found that this can be from hard water
i would need someone to back me up on that
had the same problem but when we moved, we had softer
water, and it stopped

Water hardness will affect the viability of eggs with some species. This is a common problem with discus & other soft water species. If your water is hard you are looking at using ro water, which can be a pain. I would give the meth blue a shot first, acriflavin & Maroxy are others to try. These are commonly used at a higher rate when pulling spawns from angels, at the suggested rate they may give the bit of anti fungal/bacterial action needed if it is a bacterial problem.
