Have you ever heard of methylene blue acting as an aphrodisiac? No? Just thought I'd ask.

Honestly, I thought these fish were meant to be repining on their sickbed. Reminds me of some stories I've heard from nurses in the NHS (don't ask!). Where is the emoticon for shocked and scandalised???

I am not following the line of thought here.

I know some use methylene blue to retard fungus on the eggs. What Cories are getting jiggy? Some species are aroused by anything and everything--including bad water conditions--it seems. :hyper: :shout:

Adding the methylene blue got them excited at once. Seemed like the fishy alternative of soft candlelight. They've been at it every day since.

Though they eat the eggs as soon as she lays them, and I strongly suspect this lot of being sterile anyway, I never saw a fertile egg from them, so any fungus-retarding effects are probably wasted. Still, if they are able to keep themselves occupied in hospital, I suppose that's a good thing.

HaHa!

I was hinting at the question, but you beat me to the direct approach, Barracuda, although I did ask!

My guess is that they felt better right away from the meds.

Peppers and bronze are ready breeders. They will breed frequently for you. When Cories are breeders and ready to breed but a little sick, I have seen them get excited the minute the meds are added and they begin to feel a little better. And that seems to be right away. My aneus have frequent boughts of fungus, when I add the meds they will breed soon after.
