Just out of curiousity, i was wonder what would happen to fish with to much ammonium and nitrites, besides death.

Because I had fish many times before i even found this forum to start to actually see the "real" way of raising them.

So what would the fish be doing if there were hazard amounts of ammonium and nitrite? Whats there behavior like? And what to do, anything besides water changes?

Thanks :D

What you'll find is clamped fins and they'll pump their gills since both chemicals displace oxygen in the fish. it can stress them and cause death. Also can potentially cause long term damage to the fish.

Yes potentially. Reduction in movement = reduction in oxygen consumption.

One for question that I have for the night. I had a couple goldfish before and they had like sores on them with little tiny things hanging out and then eventually died.

What is that?
Tried treating it, guess i wasnt fast enough :-(

Sounds like some sort of parasitic infection.
