Eel Tank

Hello everyone I'm new to saltwater tanks and want to start an eel tank and was wondering if anyone could give me a few tips and some need to know info about the saltwater tank and eels. Thanks

Live rock
heater
ro water with salt
test kits
refractometer
lights
Powerheads
sand
you might also want a skimmer.

im not good with eels but i know that they require a large tank
and they like to hide so try make caves out of the live rock

Well last year I was looking into freshwater eels but now I think I have matured and can handle a slat water tank. I'm looking into morays but I also like snowflakes or tire track eels I think those are saltwater at least I can't remember its been sometime. I would like to add some fish as well though. Thanks again for the replies!

Ok I was reading some different posts and I think ii have decided on a predator tank. I have two fish that I know I want for sure the zebra moray eel and a violata( I think that's how you spell it) lionfish. Anyone else have any ideas for predatory fish? Has anyone ever kept salt water stingrays? Oh by the way I'm going to look at tanks today what size would you guys recomend?

Well, for a volitan, it needs to be a minimum of 18 inches wide and five foot long

as large as possible really, as these get really big.

Ya that was roughly what I was thinking maybe a 125gallon what is normally the rule of thumb for fish to gallon?

with larger fish you cant really do that, but going with a 125g would give you room for a couple of fish

Welll last night I was doing research on stiing rays and sharks I came across sharks needing roughly 180 gallons but the stingrays ranged from only 75 gallons to 300 and it was the same type of stingray! Lol going to keep doing research though. Thanks for all the replies I would die for a 125 gal but they are pretty expensive for a teenager who isn't rich. Has anyone ever had a tank made for them where it was just glass with no stand?
