Well today I noticed what look like tiny white worms on the glass of my snail tank :(. As well as being unsightly i am worried of potential health risks both for my snails and for me who does that water changes.

Does anyone know what these are and what they do, how I can get rid of them and if thjey are poisoness?

Thanks a lot

Not harmfull william - think their called 'plannarians'(sp). Usually down to a lack of maintenance

I think I posted a more detailed reply a while back on the same thing.

I did a search for it but came up blank. This has happened a couple of times recently on key words that it should find - is the search facility working OK?

:)

I don't know - think it might me using wrong words/spelling etc.

found old reply

As far as the small white worms go I can't remember what they are called possibly planarians, they are harmless non-parasitic flat worms. Could have been introduced on plants or live food, but if they have reached large numbers then this is usually indicative of overfeeding or uneaten food, or a lack of routine maintenance.

:)

only seen a couple so far, yes the snail tank was neglected for 2 weeks   :( its had quite a few changes now at last :) Apparently fish eat the planarians so I am going to get a white cloud mountain minnow or two.
