Educational pics regarding different net breeders

I have both.........like them both for different reasons


the one on the left is the hard plastic one

I like it 'cause it separates the mom from the fry with a slatted plastic peice that sits about two thirds of the way down. I have it kinda off kilter right now somehow.


I don't like it 'cause food gets stuck in the bottom if they don't eat it........some snails have found their way in there and I am sure that will help

I had a few baby guppies escape from the slats on the sides that let water flow in but platies are too fat even at birth to get through.

the thing just floats in the tank by way of air underneath the handles. If you smash it up against the tank it will stay put, or you can let it float around

the net, on the right, I like once the babies are born

I like to rear the young in these 'cause the food particles can escape if there isn't too much on the bottom, and there is a lot of fresh water circulating


these breeders stay on with little metal arms that you bend when you get them to hang over your tank

see the little babies? I have a mixture of platies and guppies in there right now!

good........................as you see, I like both.

the first one is good for when mum is in there.........then put the kids off to bed in the net
