On one corner of my 29-gallon tank, the side and front pieces of glass don't line up flush. Instead of both pieces of glass being like this | one is like this | and one is like this / (although not that severe). They're flush at the top, but not at the bottom.

Is this something I ought to worry about? I got the tank second-hand from one of my professors at college. I don't know how long he had it. I've had it since last June or July and haven't had any problems with it, but it makes me nervous. Make me want to set the whole tank stand in a big, plastic container to catch the water if the tank breaks!

Should I just put some more silicon on the otuside where that "gap" is? Will it (probably) be okay the way it is? Any suggestions?

If I haven't explained it clearly, I can see about taking a picture - just let me know.

Thanks!

without a pic its hard to tell. But if its troubling you so much then going through the task of strengthening it using silicon would be the way to go... just for peace of mind right? ;)

Get a pic up asap and we can help u judge the possibilty of it collasping.

oh and u shud ask ur proff how long he's had it for...maybe its been like that for ages and nothing has happened....that would probably be the best way to go come to think of it.

I shall silicon it later.

I will also try to take a picture later (before the silicon), or perhaps tomorrow. I have to work today/tonight.

My prof has had the tank for at least three years, probably longer.

Thanks!
