i was thinking of getting a tank called the ecopico

it is 5.1 us gallons

for stock i want to know if i can have a;

firefish nemateleotris magnifica

pom pom crab lybia tessellata

a few hermit crabs blue and red leg reef hermit crabs up to 2 of each

a pajama or banggai cardinal

for coral i think ill have a few mushrooms, zoas, maybe some glove and star polyps, and some pumping xenia and yellow polyps

How would you start a saltwater tank in a 5 gallon tank? Just interested.

im not really sure i guess as long as you buy smaller things like zoas are small sized corals and firefish only grow to about 3.5 inches you also need to change the water more often like 50% a week

im not an expert you should start your own thread im just looking for stock ideas

No I just wanted to know how you were planning to do it because 5 gallons seems VERY small for saltwater fish all 3 of my fw tanks are bigger than that. These is not meant to be rude in any way so don't take it offensively.

go on ecoxotic.com there is one for freshwater and another for reefs

i've seen videos on youtube you should check it out

are you a newbie

To salt sort of. My friend has a 125 gallon and I've been with him to help him out 80% of the way so I basically know salt. To fresh I'm not a newbie in any way shape or form.

Kind of a hefty fine for a cube and a light I payed $70 less for a complete 10 gallon aquarium. $150 for an empty cube a light and a cover thing is kind of alot. But it is what you like so it's all up to you.

I don't own one but as I said my neighbor and friend has a 125 gallon and I am with him 80% of the time helping out and learning everything there is to know about saltwater aquariums. I also was there when he bought it.

And btw I've been on this forum for about a month and ice learned quite alot. This is also one of the friendlier and better layer out and put together forums.

it is expensive but im going to look elseware to find it cheaper

my local fish store sells it so i might go there this weekend just to see if they have it i have to save up money

though the store isnt so local its 45 minutes away from my house in framingham i live in marlboro

Oh well that's only what like 10000 15000 miles away from each other? Lol
