I added some presoaked Eco Complete substrate to tank and its still a little clowdy. Its not a sand clowdy but something else. any ideas?

By presoaked, what do you mean? Did you wash it your self? Are you running your filter to clear it? If you are, try adding a bit more filter floss and this should help clear it up. Water changes may also help too.
It should clear after a while..

i dont think there was a need to pre-soak because the bag is wet filled with beneficial bacteria..at least it was when i bought it..took a couple hours to clear up

I've literally just finnished filling up a small tank with an Eco-complete substrate (1 bag) and the water is nice and clear.

Did you mix the Eco-complete in with your existing substrate as it says on the bag or simply lay it on top ?
Could be that the mixing has stirred things up and it may settle down in time !

Mine took a while to settle, 3 bags in a 60g, but after a few hours it was pretty clear. Still a little dust, I can stir it up out of what's laying down, but not a problem.

I used one bag on a 10 gallon tank and the water cleared extremely quick. The cloudiness was also minimal.

Phlawed,

Just wondering if your cloudy water has cleared yet ?

When a I setup my new tank with Eco-complete it was nice and clear, but by the next morning the water was a little cloudy. I added some fast growing and floating plants and things look to be clearing slowly.

Mr G

If it hasnt cleared by now maybe is a bacterial bloom?

I was thinking that was the problem in my tank. Newly setup, only plants, no fish.
I've put my portable 9W UV steriliser in to help control it and I'll be going a 20% water change tonight.

I'm not really worried as I've got to re-work the tank at the weekend adding extra substrate, rocks and bogwood. This was just a quick temporary setup as the HC in my other tank was suffering from lower light levels .......... call it a 'hospital tank' for plants !

I was starting to wonder if that was Phlawed's problem.

Mr G

============= EDIT===============
Just got home and checked my tank after almost 24 Hrs of UV and its almost clear.
The UV seems to be taking care of any bacterial bloom, at this rate, by tomorrow it should be crystal clear.
Think I'll hold off on the water change.

Phlawed: If your tank is still cloudy see if there is anyway you can get some UV in there.
