Eclipse Hood on 29 gallon walmart kit

Eclipse hoods have built in filters -- if you already have a filter with your tank (which, if it's a kit, you should). I wouldn't waste your money on an Eclipse hood. You're better off just picking up a 30" flourescent strip light for $20-30. You could even get a double-bulb flourescent strip-light for about $40 (check out this site) if you want lots of wattage for plants or whatever.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Eclipse hoods. They're okay for beginners who want an all-in-one type thing for an easy start, but if you already have the rest of the equipment, it's really unnecessary. Plus, if one part breaks (the filter or the light) you have to replace the entire thing, rather than JUST replacing a filter OR a light. But maybe that's just me. :)
