I've been thinking about getting a small 12 gallon eclipse tank for a female haven. Has anyone tried this tank? What's the verdict? Good or bad with it's built in filter system.
That's exactly what I wanted to get just yesterday for my new girly betta community.
However, I found that the tank w/filter alone costs about a hundred bucks, so I opted for a 10 gallon setup for 35$. I really like the look of the 12G one but couldn't justify spending the extra cash, considering that I still had to buy gravel, rocks, plants, heater and fish.
Well if you are a betta addict you would think like this: Why buy a 12 gallon set-up that costs $100 when I can buy almost 3 cheaper 10 gallon set-ups and have 3 times the bettas!
Haha. Anyways, I have never used the tank but have seen it and it looks nice. I am sure it would be fine for a group of 4 or 5 females. Just make sure there are a lot of hiding spots. I would try 4 females.
Unfortunately with the prices here, 3 10 gallon tanks would cost me about double the price if not more. A 2 gallon glass tank here costs $14.00 plus tax.

Holy bajeezus - where do you live?
You can get an entire 10G tank setup here with glass tank, hood w/light and filter for 29$ at WalMart. I get them at PetSmart for 34$ because I won't buy stuff from WM.
A 5 gallon tank here (okay, with light and filter in lid) costs £39 on special offer reduced from £79 - thats about $80 / $160 US. And that's cheap! You American bods are so lucky!!! And the price difference seems to relate to all other equipment too - we basically pay at least double what you guys do for the same stuff. I think one of you guys needs to fill a suitcase up with 10 gallon tanks and come to England for a holiday. You can stay with me!!!
