Ebo Jager Heater

Greetings!

I have an old ebo jager heater which has the temperature adjustment knob on top, I have had it submerged for many years and because of that, the rubber that encapsulates the knob has hardened to the point that I cannot turn it, any suggestions on how to soften the rubber?

Don't think there is any way back for that perished rubber, being an electrical component i would change it for a new heater/stat...hth

Its had its day.... get a new one !
