Well i have had my male betta for about 3 days now. I havent seen him eat his food yet. Its always just still floating at the top of the water.

I have 2 kinds of food. First i have, BettaMin Tropical Medley. Which are sort of like flakes. Next i have, Wardley Essentials Betta Food. These are brown round pellet shaped. Well he tries to eat the round pellets but when he gets it in his mouth they just pop out. Are they to big?

I dont know whats wrong maybe he isnt hungry.
I have frozen brine shrimp. Should i try those???

Any suggestions will help.

Thank you

First of all make sure you take any uneaten food out it goes off really fast and pollutes the water. One of my little girls cant bit the pellets so I crush them between 2 teaspoons and then she scoffs it. Try this! :good: If that fails go for the frozen stuff..they can go for ages without eating.

I crushed the pellets and put it in. I have to go somewhere for about a hour and a half. When i come back i will see if he ate it.

you have only had him a few days, he could still be getting used to his surroundings...its a big move for such a small fish remember.
keep trying, just remember to fish out the old food that dosen't get eaten, and try blood worms...they love them

Try red worms. He may take frozen but i've had a problem with my Jaffa and he'll only take live ones.

I got back and they were still there. But when i was fishing the food out i think one sank to the bottom and he went down and i think he picked it up. I have frozen brine shrimp. Should i try those??
