Can't say I've heard of a Banded Gourami being referred to as Giant Gourami.

It wasn't a case of me not believing you fishfreak24, it's just that as I said, I have never heard of a Banded Gourami being called a Giant Gourami.

If you do a Google search for Giant Gourami, I suspect you won't find many Banded Gouramis under that name.

Once again, let me say that many common names tend to be regional, and this is an international forum. I've seen Colisa fasciata sold in my area as giant gouramis. Until I did some research, I was not aware they were called banded gouramis. To avoid confusion, it's always best to use their correct latin name.
