I have recently set up a small (18"x12"x15") tank for a frogfish (Antennarius Coccineus - the Scarlet Frogsfish, although it's green. Pictures soon).
The tank has 5kg of live rock, and a couple of bits of macro at the moment, as well as an airstone.
I've never really been that into corals - most of the fish I like are not reef safe - but was thinking about putting one or two in with the frog.
I am currently waiting for a little eheim internal for carbon/rowaphos and to give more current, and also a power compact 50/50 white/actinic which is 36w.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for something
1 hardy/easy
2 reasonably cheap
3 good looking - ideally brightly coloured
4 not going to hurt the frog
5 not going to get damaged if the frog sits on it

i think brains are one of the easiest corals to care for. they can come in bright colors. mine is bright orange & fluorescent green. what gallon size is your tank?

Almost any coral can sting or secrete a toxin, but, hardy and colorful include zoanthids, mushrooms (actinodiscus or discosomia). You didn't mention your lighting tho'. SH

yes, I did.

and the tank is around 10 gallons or so.

ooops....yes..zoanthids and mushrooms are extremely hardy and would survive...can't comment on the contact of the frog with the zoanthids tho'. Those polyps DO secrete a toxin. Mushrooms are probably the safest. The can come in greens, reds and blues. Ricordea would be good if you are in the States...I've heard they are expensive in the UK. SH
