Depends if you want a neat job, or an easy job!

Easy job; get a piece of glass and stick it over the old one with aquarium silicone sealant

Neat job; cut away the old brace with a sharp blade and scrape away all the old silicone and clean the glass, then stick your new one in; you might need to tape it to hold it while the sealant sets.

One approach I have used, not very pretty, is to drill a hole on each side of the broken brace and simply mount a nice piece of wood under the broken brace. A bolt through each side of the brace and into the wood lets the wood act as the stress member and take all of the load. The end result is a bit of wood, a couple of bolts and some brace pieces that do not have anything sticking up above them. That means the hood still fits because the wood splint is underneath and out of the way. I did mine on a 55 gallon with a piece of wood that was only about 1/4 inch square. I used tiny nuts and bolts only about 1/8 inch diameter thread size and made of stainless steel. The fix is not invisible but is OK for my fish room.
