Earthworms are very good live food to feed your fish when prepared in the proper way.
I always cut up worms into small pieces. earthworms are good escaping from my culture, I often find them wriggling around in my fish tanks on this occasion I find both fish and worm dead. 😞

I find chopping worms for my tiny fish unpleasant. A lot of potentially good live food is just too large to be practical. Freshly hatched brine shrimp, white/grindal worms and sometimes wingless fruit flies are my only year round live foods. I add Daphnia pulex and mosquito larvae when it warms up.

I bought a batch of earthworm flake once, and while it smelled like the real thing, it's one of the only foods no fish wanted to eat. I have chopped up earthworms, but no more. Yech.

Well, earthworms from my backyard are given by me to my Brachyrhaphis, Priapichthys, Alfaro and goodeid species. Of course, I do cut those earthworms before offering it to my fish. They just love it.
