Dyed Corys

I heartily agree with that, Inchworm. I think these fish just look bizarre, not attractive at all. Mother Nature knows best, IMHO.

I don't think we have to worry about many people buying them if that's the pricetag. Let's hope that it's expensive to dye corys, so that it's such an unprofitable undertaking that they don't bother any more.

Here's to hoping;

i agree its so cruel - i was in a fish shop once & they had dyed cories, the poor things had fuschia pink & bright blue tails & i mean fuschia pink! looked horrible & i felt so sorry for them i wanted to buy them all & try to save them but i knew that it would just encourage the fish shop owner to get more - i did give them a piece of my mind though & if in london uk DONT buy your fish from the fish shop thats in the markets on kilburn high rd NW6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it's expensive to dye them since they do this in the orient. I think they charge high prices out of greed, since greed and cruelty so often go hand in hand.

I've seen ones dyed red and green and sold, for inflated prices as, "Christmas Corys." :/ I wonder what happened to those left unsold after the holiday? :byebye:

I think That What they do to those Cute Little Cory's IS Horrible.

but i have seen worse, there are YELLOW Peppered Corys Coming thru now. They look revolting.

The reason I was thinking it might have been an expensive process would be, perhaps (and hopefully), that corys aren't as 'easy' to dye as the other dyed fish. Maybe they don't accept the dye as readily or something, so the death rate is unmarketably high.

I just hope they give up soon, so that more corys don't have to die for them to realize they're not profitable.
