Dye Injected Albino Corys

Hi All,

I was in a LFS earlier today and in one of the tanks I spotted some Albino Corys. There were a few normal looking ones and then I noticed some with Pink and blue tails. The bands of colour were about 1/4" long from the ends of their tails. They looked liked they had either been painted or injected with colour. I did try to get a picture on my Phone Camera but as I was the only one in the shop it was a little difficult. I dont know whether to go back and complain about the fish or just keep my mouth shut and not go back there again. I was a little a surprised as this LFS has been around for years and I have never seen anything like this in there before.

What should I do?

i would not use then if they sell dyed fish, however i would get a photo, why would they mind if they have nothing to hide. it would be good to see the fish for views from this forum

Don't buy them. I'd say tell the manager or owner you won't shop from them because of it but they'll either just laugh it off or ignore you.

I wouldn't support them. But would take a picture. After all their selling them so why wouldn't "they" want the news out that they have these fish.

I've seen these too, recently - possibly in the same place you did.....
The ones I saw were injected.

I saw some Dyed Skirt Tetras the other day in a place that should have known better.

I have seen these in an orange form too. They look horrible and just basically get sick and die. Tragedy.

as someone who studied photography, i know that the only thing they can do is tell you off or throw you out. If it is dyed then if they throw you out you wont want to go back. If it is not dyed then you are going to create good publicity for them so they wont mind.

I once got approached by 3 security guys when taking a picture of the suis re (gherking)... ok i did jump a gate and was tresspassing, but i got a B for my a-level photography (93% and it was 2 marks below an A)

So if i only got a slap on the wrist and i tresspassed, you aint gonna get nothing done to you. So do it

If you don't like it then just don't go their, but having a piss-fit in the store will just make you look like a fool. If you don't like it just go away...

Fish stores have every right in the world to sell painted fish. It is their store, not yours.
