Hey, is it a risk to add it to my senegalus. The tank is about 30 gals. I am getting a large tank in a few months. Will it kill the bichir even though its a lot smaller?
I have to disagree. I have never had problems with gachuas, and any that I've kept haven't even gone after fishes small enough to eat. They should do alright together, although in this case it would indeed be a risky, snakehads often do not tolerate fishes that look at all similar to themselves.CFC said:Snakeheads are always a risk to add with any fish, dwarf snakeheads are usually less aggressive but are still very capable of dismantling other fish a bite at a time.
If you want to keep dwarf snakeheads in a community style set up then it is recomended to have a divider or spare tank to move the snakehead to in the event that it starts attacking other fish.
I too have kept gachua's in a community set up (i now have a breeding pair) and for the most part i didnt have any problems keeping a single gachua with other large fish, until one day it decided to kill my redfinned wolf fish and ripped up a bellycrawler pike quite badly.Black_Ghost_Guy said:I have to disagree. Yeah, I guess that I've been desynthesized to aggressive fish. H. Malabaricus is the godfather of all evil fish, though.CFC said:Oh red finned wolf fish are aggressive, just not as aggressive as other wolf fish or snakeheads
