Hello there I thought I would venture over from the nano marine section where I seem to have been living for the last month or so. I keep dwarf puffers and figure 8; two dwarf puffers are still going strong, one is over a year old and the other is not far behind. The figure 8 must be about 8-10 months old, can't remember when I got him (since we don't celebrate their birthdays). Anyway they live happily in a 20g tank along with a dwarf congo frog.
I was wondering if anyone knew how long these guys live for. I did read that they live for about 3-4 years is this correct??
Recently another dwarf puffer (~1 year old) passed away due to the stress of having his water changed; that is not that I don't do it regularly but he just hated water changes. I never seen a puffer move so fast in such random directions!! If you have seen danios startled then you are on the right lines for how fast he moved. Incidently has anyone ever had a guppy that got so old it had wrinckles?? I have one.... well I had two one died....and then there was one.

Regards

If kept in the right conditions DPs can live 3-4 years. Are the DPs in with the F8? I wouldn't say F8s in with DPs are good/ideal living conditions really. F8s prefer low end brackish water when in captivity SG 1.005-1.008 whereas DPs are freshwater.
