I've been told by my LFS that while the dwarf puffer's can live in fresh water that they will do better in a brackish environment. I need some expert clarification. They would be going in the 10g once I have moved it's current occupents to the 29g after it is stable. Thanks this forum has been a life saver. My fish and my peace of mind.

Your lfs is backwards. While they can tolerate a bit of salt in their water (for treatment of Ick, not as a normal condition), Dwarf puffers are definately a true Fresh Water puffer.

Yeah I thought that might be the case because he mentioned GSP
s and Figure 8's also which are brackish if I remember correctly. This is why I love this forum. You could have the best LFS and just ask something they are less familiar about and get a fuzzy answer. Thanks for your help. I'm waiting till I get the water perfect before adding any.
