I currently have an empty 10 gallon tank and soon will have an empty 3, but if I wanted a dwarf puffer I would really only want to put 1 in a 10 gallon tank correct? I mean it says 5 gallons a puffer but thats like the minimum. Also are there any good tank mates for them?

Check out the pinned thread at the top of the forum for tankmate details!

In a 10g, you could keep a couple. You couyld also have a go at planting it, as they'll appreciate a tank with plenty to explore.

Well is it worth my while to have 2 fish in it? Like I have seen them in the petstores and they seem like cool fish to have but is it worth having 2-3 in a 10 gallon

I kept 3 in a 20 gallon, an they're great fish to keep. Very active and interactive, a lot of fun.

Thanks for your help

I kept the 20g a few years ago, I kept bumblebee gobies in there. Havent got any pictures I'm afraid.

after reading your dwarf puffer post(very informative) it only really listed Ottos as good tankmates. Now while I am not complaining since the puffers would be the centerpiece but are they the only good option?

A good site for info on DPs is dwarf puffers dot com I got loads of info from there before getting DPs and very helpful it was too :D :good:

I have 3 DP in a 13 gallon (approx) with 3 huge amano shrimp and they get on fine.Lots of plants and hidey holes.
Have had Otos in there aswell too and they got on fine, but I removed them as I couldn't be sure how much they were getting to eat.
:good:

I have amano shrimp and otos in my DP tank too. I have a veggie clip and I put cucumber in it for the otos :D Most of the time the shrimp tuck in too
