Hey so I’ve had a dwarf gourami for 2 years now in a 10 gal with some ember tetras and ghost shrimp. He’s really active and seems well. I did notice a weird pimp spot on his nostril and I’m a little worried about it. He seems otherwise healthy and I’m hoping he just jumped (he does this now and again when he gets excited and I’m feeding) and injured himself. On the other hand I hope it isn’t but it could be some sort of fungus but again he is still really active so I’m not sure.
ill attach photos, hopefully they’re good enough but I can upload more if needed. Thanks :)

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

It's not fungus. Fungus in fish is generally white and only gets into damaged tissue.

The red lump looks like a blood blister. I would monitor it over the next few days and see what happens. Post pictures if it gets worse or changes.

In the mean time, do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week to help keep any disease organisms at low levels in the water. This will reduce the chance of infection if the lump pops.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks. Wash filter media/ materials in a bucket of tank water and re-use the media. Tip the bucket of dirty water on the lawn/ garden.

Ok good to hear, thank you for the fast response. I’m glad it doesn’t sound too serious :). How do you think it could have happened?
