I picked up a couple Dwarf Gouramies at the LPS, got them in the tank and later on in the evening noticed that one of them had 1/2 the length off one of the pelvic feeler fins. Unfortunately I don't know if this was the result of transport or netting it into my tank, or was this way to begin with. Does the long thread like pelvic fins (the "feelers") on a Dwarf Gourami grow back?

The feelers will grown back within a week or two at most IME. I've had this happen to about 4 gouramis that I've added (two were male, two were female) and their feelers were either missing tbw or bit off from the male I have. Even when I've added a new gourami to others, they go through their 'pecking order' and usually by the time that is settled, the feeler has grown back 75%. No worries as long as the new gourami isn't being harassed continually.

Excellent. I'll keep an eye on them. So far, the Dwarf Gouramies are all over the place. Usual antics of up down and all around particularly where they feel the downrush of current at the front of the tank (tall column style 47G). They seem fine thus far and don't appear to be overly harrased by any other fish. However if my pair of gold gouramies keep it up, I'll end up returning them to the LPS and exchange for a Dwarf and Pearl instead. At the onset, they appear to be a semi-aggressive of which none of the others in the tank are so I'd rather 'keep the peace'.

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.
