Well for weeks now my males have been singing their little hearts out and for whatever reason the female wasn't interested at all. Well 2 days in a row I found the larger male & female like this;

Breeding

Then a few hours later I found this little pile of what I'm assuming(from descriptions I've read) is the little eggs;

Egg pile

They weren't there long though as they were soon eaten by the less then impressed smaller male :lol:

Apparently they're really difficult to breed. How old were yours when they started singing? Do they have some land or can you hear their song from underwater? :crazy: Mine have just become old enough to sex and I think I have 3 boys and a girl (little white bumps under the front legs?) I'm dying for them to sing!

I've only had them a few months but the smaller male has been singing pretty much from day one, the larger male(who managed to woo the female) only started a few weeks ago. You can hear the singing underwater, infact it's so loud / high pitched I could hear it over the music when I was playing on my xbox. I didn't bother sexing mine I just left them to it, 2 of them started to sing one of them produced eggs..simple way to sex lol. I have read that males tend to be darker then females as well and one of mine is considerably darker then the other two, in fact i had him down as the only male as the other two are virtually identical in tone.
