Dwarf Baby Tear Help!

i just planted an Iwagumi layout and have dwarf baby tears near the front !.... i use an eco complete and sand substrate . I feel though that i havent planted the tears completly right... some pieces floated up. I feel that i really try to shove it in to the substrate that they would be burried and die . Whats the best method or is the way i have it , which is the pieces gently on top / in the substrate ok ???

I had to almost completely bury mine because they wouldn't stay in the substrate. The buried parts did die off somewhat, but then the roots took hold and new shoots started appearing. I think as long as it's not buried too deep, it will make a come back. That was my experience anyway.
