I love dwarf puffers alot, but I never got around to buying some. Now I have a high 20 gallon tank. I have sand in it and some java moss. If I do plan on buying them, I will buy some small pots and rocks. I aslo realize that they are terratorial, only about 3 to every 10 gallons. I would buy six, however my 20 is not a twenty long it is a twenty high. Since there is not enough building space on the bottom to house six I was wondering if I could build some sort of bridge over the bottom on which I can build more territory on. If the brige did not block to much space from the bottom to the top would it work? :/

Is there a difference? :
I searched dp on google images and I came up with two very different looking pictures.

Are they different? :/

I have more questions, but I don't want to bother you with them now.

that set up would be just fine.

and those are both pics of dp's, just different lighting.

There are two species of Dwarf puffer, and two subspecies of one of the species.

carinotetrodon travancorius has the black spotted, yellow bellied form, and the blue spotted, white bellied form. Fish sold in the hobby are ofen hybrids of the two colour variations.

carinotetrodon imitator has smaller, sometimes pinpoint spots and a longer tail.
