This is starting to drive me nuts, it looks like someone has been sawing wood in my fish tank  .
Water stats are fine but it just doesn't look very nice.

Here's what i've tried to get rid of it;
massive water changes, some daily too
doubled up the filter floss
removing filter floss for better filter power.
removing some of the decor to improve water circulation

Just tried 'filter aid' apperantly helps with particals floating around, ordering a powerhead too but i never used to have this problem before .

sorry not familiar with that filter all so i wont make assumptions , altho it does sound exactly like the problem i had when i 1st got my 100g . i had the same floating particles in the water all the time , tried all these "water clearing" products with little success. in the end i added a 2nd external and the problem was solved. perhaps you could benefit from increasing filtration?

Could be down to water circulation, and has got worse and worse. Think it started since i got the battleship (sig picture), it'll prob be blocking alot of the water flow.

I'll try a powerhead and if that doesn't work, cry.

just a stab in the dark but whats the ship ornament made of? could it maybe be breaking down in the water resulting in the particles? that ship also looks like a food/debris trap . maybe debris collecting in/under/around it being dislodged by foraging fish?

tbh tho my gut says its a filtration issue . if the filters not picking it up all a powerheads going to do is blow it around the tank

It's made of that plastic stuff they're all made out of, catches abit of food/debris but not as much as you think as my GTs flirt in it alot and knock half the sand out of it.

Few week back i moved the tank and it got a pretty big clean but that didn't solve nothing either, the water used to be crystal clear though that's why i doubt it would be the filter? There's deffo not much water circulation though, particals dont really move fast lol.

It might be a bacterial outbreak... I had one a couple of weeks ago and it made my water cloudy/dusty. I kept doing water changes everyday, watched how much I fed my fish, and got rid of it in a week.

My tank appears bitty every so often when the top filter floss needs changing in the external,my guess is they get blocked up with particles and dont fully filter the water properly, pushing bits back into the tank...

have you tried cleaning the filter hoses?

Yup, did that when i moved the tank.

I've tried changin the filter floss more then you should. i even doubled it, also i've even maintend the filter once a week too.
The spray bar shoots at the front glass and then i'm guessing will shoot down towards sand and round but the ship will then block water flow, could possibly be that, i've just ordered a powerhead to try it out.
