Dropsy

My cory is all puffed out or bloated I guess, and hes breathing really fast and his gills are all stuck out. He has a raised bump where his dorsal (that what its called?) is attatched to his back. his eyes are all bulging too. I looked up these symptoms and think it could be dropsy. the info says it may be curable if its bacterial, but if its cancer or kidney failure hes most likely a goner. Id like to treat him asap cause hes one of my faves. what can i do for him? I couldnt find what meds to use, only that he should go in a seperate tank and I need to keep an eye on my other fish too in case its bacterial. Please help!

i am not too sure about the cure but one thing for sure is to NOT apply any salt bath... cuz they hated it..... some ppl suggest use salt bath on other fish may help to kill some bateria but definitly not for your cory...

"Unfortunately, dropsy is *usually* incurable and fatal; however, in rare cases, spontaneous recovery may occur. A strong antibiotic such as kanamycin sulfate can be tried, but because it is an internal infection, usually it does little good."

Well dropsy is rarely curable however follow my sig for more info
