So I went to work this morning after my 'weekend' and found my work betta very obviously has dropsy. He is 'pine coned' and even looks like he is permanently flaring. I moved him into a shallower 1/2 gallon bowl (from a 1 gallon aquaview) and have started treatment with Maracyn Two. Anything else I can do? I've had most of the other fish/betta illnesses, but never dropsy. I know prognosis is poor, but want to at least give him a shot. My coworker fed him for me yesterday and said he did eat a pellet or two but wasn't too interested...probably seemed sluggish. He is normally the most aggressive betta I have with a super duper appetite and major attitude.

He is still able to swim a bit, but just spends his time either sitting at the bottom resting or resting near the surface. Showed no interest in a medicated pellet I tossed in there.

Anything else that can be done?

From my own experience, I think at that stage there's really not much you can do. Just try to make him comfortable.

He is still hanging in there but looked worse today. I am medicating him but am assuming he will pass on. He can still swim but is mostly just resting on the bottom.

Poor Booker the Betta :/
