Apparently my clown plec needs driftwood as a part of its diet, i do have bogwood which it never seems to bother with, can driftwood be bought from a lfs, and will it be fine in a community tank?

So i take it its going to be quite big then, i aready have a large-ish lump of bogwood, thought it might hav been twiggy sort of wood.

Well, not necesseraly big, depends it's like bogwood, you can get small and big sizes. It's not really twiggy, it's actually quite smooth and looks like a hand made product, rather than natural.

In my opinion driftwood comes from the sea, as the definition is " Wood washed up on, a shore."
Bogwood - well, from a muddy peat bog
And Mopani wood is just chopped down mopani trees - they have not been in contact with any water (fresh from a bog or salt from the sea - and therefor leech tannins like crazy).

Thanks Bloo - that was me showing my ignorance *lol*. It's odd because you see mopani on ebay and the likes and people try and sell it as non leeching, but our worst experiences with leeching was with mopani (even after weeks and weeks of soaking), and our current piece of "bogwood" hasn't leeched at all.
