 JUST WANDERING IF THERE IS AN ANSWER TO PUTING DRIFTWOOD IN YOUR FISHTANK? WHEN PURCHASED, I WAS TOLD TO SOAK IT IN MY BATHTUB UNTIL THE WATER NO LONGER TURNED BROWN. I DID THAT. NOW MY TANK IS STILL NASTY. IS THERE A SOLUTION TO THIS BESIDES TAKING THE WOOD OUT?

Bogwood leaches some brown colouration into the water for ages. It is natural. I like it.

Some activated Carbon/Charcoal in your filter will reduce the colouration, but not for long.

The fish like the driftwood and tannins to. My fish in tanks with driftwood always seemed healthier to me so I have driftwood in all my tanks now. I only soak it till is sinks and then put it in the tank. I like the lovely brown color also.

Boil your bogwood for about a day this will take alot of the tannin out, you still will have yellowish water but with each water change it does lesson, however i dont think it ever goes away though, your water will always look a bit yellow, BUT many ppl like this colour because yes it does look more natural.
