Hey everyone :)

I know this site has been posted on here before but i've noticed alot of new members or old members joining the SW section and i just thought i'd share probably my favourite private owned reef with you all (again)

Here

Let me know what you think :good:

Dan

WOW  amazing. But i have to be realistic here and very blunt, "f*** that!" I mean great tank but that kind of equipment and cost etc should be mroe for just public aquariums can u imagine the bill! Let alone running it!. Part from that its gave my the great idea of having a deep tank, so thats on my list of the upgrade.

Steve West owns that 850 gallon beast. If you want to see something even more beautiful you should check out Steve's cold water reefs. He personally collected most the fauna for his cold water tanks in the Puget Sound. I believe his cold water tanks are a 120 gallon reef and a 40 gallon fish-friendly tank sharing a common sump.

It was actually Steve's tank that inspired me to do a cold water reef which is in the process. When I was in the hospital from my car crash I had a friend of my net all my fish from my current tanks (11 tanks altogether) and sold them along with the tanks and equipment. So now I'm fishless and tankless and from the money I got from the sales of my fish I'll be setting up a cold water reef along with a few other tanks.

Although there are many tanks Id love to have, not many represent the tank I dream of. My dream tank is something Ill make personally, over a period of time. Id love the aqua scape to be something like Sanjay Joshi's "pillars" of rock rather than mounds, but just covered in a few individual LARGE colonies of SPS, many clams, lots of mushrooms, and it would have to be situated in a room which was dimly lit, a few chairs (Perhaps my bed?) and a bar. :shifty:

Sanjay Joshi's Reef Sructure

Mr M i've seen the tank you're speaking about on reefcentral

It has bar with chairs and is dimly lit i will try and find it for you tommorow :good:

WOW Dan, never seen that one :hyper:. Absoloutely gorgeous. I've actually met Sanjay as he has a soft spot for some of the members of my local reef club. Great guy and absoloute fountain of knowledge. Probably a good 1/4 of the frags that are common to my reef club were his at one point, probably many originating from penn state.

Anyway, my dream aquaurium ironically looks a lot like Steve Weast's in aquascaping concept, that tounge and groove style so common to reefs in the carribean where I dive. Except my dream aquarium would be 100 times the size of his. I so want my own that I can dive in :hyper:

Wow, that's amazing, I must admit to have never seeing a "Shaw's Boxfish" before!

My dream tank would have to be large enough to house something that could actually kill me, such as a Titan Trigger or Green Moray. I could then finally win that "futile" argument with my sometimes ignorant friends; while I am talking about my ruthless killers in my tanks, such as the Asian Red-Tailed Catfish I sold, they would break in and say "Oh yeah, well I bet my Cat could kill it!". If I owned a Titan Trigger or Green Moray I could finally say, "Bring your Cat over to my house and we'll see about that.".
