im fairly new to fishkeeping and a while back i seen a tank in my LFS full of these little yellow and green things which i later found out are drawf puffers i have read up a bit about them and found out that u can only have them in a tank and that they like a bit of salt anyway back to topic i would like to know if its aright to put on into this fish tank

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...3984974180&rd=1

it says that its around 8 gallons if i can fit it in can i put more than one in/would i be able to put apple snails in or something else to that type ??

thanks in advance for any answers :)

you can fit in 1 dp and thats it. the ad says its 5.1 gallons

Yep you can fit one dwarf puffer in there. I know dwarfs are small but I would only put snails in if I was happy to have the puffer eat them, cos I'm sure he will give it a go.

OH!!! i couldnt do that i love snails :-( ok so no snail anythign else i could keep with it ??

just noticed the "like a bit of salt" bit of your original message - no salt for DP's, strictly freshwater.

anything you put in with a d.p. is potentially at risk - some people seem to get away with tankmates like otos etc without problems, some seem to have less success. Bearing that in mind, and the limited space in your tank; why not pick tankmates like cherry shrimps, amano shrimps or similar. theyre fairly cheap, quite interesting to watch, and if they do get dispatched by the puffer then at least they will give it a good meal

you could still get one. just treat it like any other fish. dp's look especially nice in a planted tank. and then you could play "spot the puffer"
