Hey, just wondering are they aggressive? ive read that they are not. My lfs has a large one with a fire eel and the eel is fine! So i was wondering can they be kept with bichirs, anyone had any luck?
Maybe this one was just docile!

do you have a scientific name? its especially hard to talk about puffers based on their common names, since about half the LFS just label them however they feel.

most puffers are known to chew on tankmates, so its generally not recommended to keep them with nice/expensive fish. the fire eel is a substrate dweller, which may be its only saving. :dunno: but then, i'm not the expert here...

Tetraodon palembangensis, they are known quite well known as dragon puffer though. I just thought as it is a ambush predator it will only kill or attack smaller species. Unlike a SA or dwarf which are constantly moving and wil nip anything!

No. No. No. No. No.

They will probably kill any other fish. The eel is probably only fine because they have not been kept together for long! Do not try, I repeat, DO NOT TRY!

Lol! ok, just ive read it and see it. Il keep and eye on the eel though! Im sure u can get exceptions like the fahaka kept with a bichir, which was said never to be done!
Im not going to do it though, i like my bichir 2 much!
