Dragon Goby Yeh!

Hey Everyone i got a New Dragon Goby the Other day after emptying one of my Tank into a brakish setup, i Used a Tonic Salt , I think the level may be around the 00.2 and i was just wondering if that was ok for him, He seems to be fine he has already made himself a cave under the Bogwood and he is protecting it from the bbg's he is so cute i named him herbert :good: P.S: Post your pics of your Dragon Gobies and there special places :good:

You might be better off putting this topic in the brackish section. I'm just about to go out, but I'd say that it would be worth asking in there straight away why not to use tonic salt, I don't have the time to write it myself. Apologies!
 
You know 'tonic salt' doesn't make a tank brackish.
Only marine salt does that.
To me it sounds like you are currently keeping your dragon goby in freshwater :crazy: .

I'm also confused about the salinity, I don't keep brackish or marine tanks, but what do you mean by '00.2'? :huh:. What are you using to measure salinity?

I don have my own marine or brackish tank, so may be missing something though :good: :blink: .

No. They were originally sold to make "old" (high nitrate) water less toxic to aquarium fish. Nowadays their main job is to con inexperienced aquarists out of their money.

For treating fish with saltwater dips, just use non-iodised cooking salt. For brackish water, using marine mix.

Just Say NO To Tonic Salt!
