Hi, I finally became the proud owner of three much wanted Dp's today....so I'm hoping I'm just being an over protective Mummy  ....but.....all three seem to be holding their tails at a strange angle! [almost right angle to their bodies]. I watched them in the lfs for ages [Amwells] and whole tank looked fine, but since they've been home they all have this strange thing with their tails?!?!?!?! They've all eaten tonight [frozen blood worm] and are looking OK, if not totally elusive :hyper: .....keep having to try and make number one son believe that there are fish in there!!!!!
Any ideas?

hey ;D grats on the DP's  wicked fish i used to keep a few :)

the tail stuff is hilarious!

mine used to do it alot, then fan it out etc!

nothing to worry about =]

Just what I needed to hear :good: I suppose in hindsight it does sort of look like a 'resting' pose  They are just so funny though already....when they do decide to put in appearance at the front of the tank all you can see are their eyes......a truly amazing little bunch of fishes!

Thanks

glad to help :)

i love the side glance, makes me laugh

Bagu ;)

It is totally cute! It is so the way they surf

Each of them will get personalities and you will see all the moves! One of my favs is backwards motor with food firmly in mouth at fullspeed!

Sad to say I lost one lil guy  It looked like IP and I really tried my hardest with him, but he was just too weak.

And so I am left with Pig and Hartley [you need to be of a certain age to know where their names come from!!!! :hey: ] Pig is just.....well a pig, has a lovely round belly and is definatley the boss! Hartley is still a little shy....but feisty! He hides in the plants but as soon as he sees the teaspoon with dinner on, zooms out and butts Pig out of the way

Should I consider a replacement for Little Man? The tank is 60l and I wasn't sure whether to get another Puff or consider a different tank mate....any idesa?

[Just to add I am going to dose the tank for IP, courtesy of Jennybugs, and am in no hurry whatsoever for a replacement]

Edit: They both have male names as they're too young to sex....unless they're both females  .

Aw no! I am so sorry to hear that! Don't go for anything different apart from maybe otocinclus.

I'd add another DP asap and then dose them all up with wormer plus (I've sent it out to you with enough for a couple of doses) to make sure there are no further IP issues :D

If I say "it's TIME for a story" I think you'll know that I know where your puffers names come from. I live in Hartley Avenue and am always saying "that's Hartley, as in hare" to people. Some get it some just look blankly at me

''My names Pig.....and I like cream buns''....Classic

Just about to Pm you
