I've read that DP's live in weed clumps in the wild. My DP loves to hide out in a floating plant. He's in a 40l tank on his own which has an internal filter. Is it necessary for him to have an airstone as well?

He should be fine without one, but I find an air stone useful when feeding.
Defrosted frozen food placed on the airstone 'wriggles' as if alive, stimulating the puffer's hunting instinct and encouraging him to eat.

Thanks SirMinion. I've found a useful trick for defrosted bloodworms for my platys. If I fit a piece of spray-bar to the filter outlet, then put a livefood feeder so that the water from the spray-bar goes into the feeder, the dead worms are pushed through the holes. Got the platys fooled anyway

i would try that for my 3 future dp's but it seems that i shouldnt use an air stone sicne i have plants in my tank.

hope they eat what i give them....or else :flex:

I've got airstones in planted tanks and they're fine. One is heavily planted and has always had an airstone.

really? cause i have no c02 injections, only root tabs.

still alright to put thata ir stone in there? :dunno:

Well I probably don't do things by the book but I have no co2 and don't feed my plants, just rely on fish waste and natural stuff. Yes and an airstone and so far my plants are flourishing. Possibly good luck?

maybe or maybe not, well ill leave the airsotne out ayway im gonna use the pump to make a sponge filter.....gooood.
