Does dosing ferts kill shrimp? I want to do a mid-tech planted tank and so I will need to dose ferts, but would that hurt shrimps if I plan to get some? Maybe cherries or CRS.

Yep as long as you aren't dosing anything with copper in (I dont think any plant ferts would contain copper) you are totally safe. I does all kinds of stuff into my tank and both fish and shrimp are doing well and breeding constantly.

Some dry trace elements mixes contain copper, but how much depends on where you get your ferts from. I use a trace mix from gardendirect and haven't noticed an effect on my cherries or amanos although I gather that the trace mix from aquaessentials has less copper in it.
