Dont know if it is ick

In my 55 gallon tank I have a african brown knife that appears to have ick. But if it is ick how come no other fish in the tank has ick? Could it be some type of other parasite?

some fish are much more stronger than others, therefore they can cope with more.Test your water.

Yep, agreed.
That one particular fish could be stressed for one reason or another,and that may be why only he got sick.

Also, just know that in a tank of several types of fish, just one type of fish can get ick - the rest CAN remain healthy. That doesn't necessarily mean they WILL stay healthy, but they can.

If that fish has been in that tank for quite some time, I'd treat the whole works for ick. Unless you have a hospital tank, get him into it right away - then watch the rest for signs.
