HI Angel Fish and welcome to the forum. :D

If you could provide a photo of find a link to a site with a pic, that would be great. or if you have a scientific name for it. I'v never heard of a dolphin fish except a malawi blue dolphin but i doubt this is the one you mean.

I think it's more commonly referred to as a baby whale.
I think they grow around 4 inchs , are aggressive, and can either be housed alone or with at least 8 others. otherwise they kill each other.

just curious, but did you see this fish at petco? people have been posting on this site names of fish that petco made up to make the fish more trendy , and I wondered if it was the case with the baby whale.

There are 2 species of dolphinfish, Coryphaena hippurus and C. equiselis. The first one gets to be 6 and a half ft long, the second about 3 ft. Both are saltwater and need more space than an aquarium could provide. Except for mabye C. equiselis, but it needs very deep water.

Angelfish could be referring to freshwater dolphin fish also known as Mormyrus Tapirus. My LFS acquired 6 of them several months ago but they don't seem to move the same as elephant nose fish.

My LFS said that they can be difficult to keep because they're a sensitive fish. Otherwise, they are peaceful.
