When doing water changes, I have noticed that my LR is sooo freaking gross. I got it like that at the LFS but wasnt sure if I was supposed to rinse it off since i thought it might kill off some bacteria. But anywho, I wanna take out the L.R when im doing a water change but wasnt sure what to do...Do you just dump it in a bucket filled with SW or do you have to make sure that its at temp. then stick them in the bucket?

Why do you want to take it out to do water changes? I would assume the SW you put it into would have to be up to temperature, to keep it alive... I don't think you are supposed to rinse anything off it, though I could be wrong... maybe vac any gunk off it whilst you change your water?

I want to take it out to rinse off all the crap that got on it in the LFS they used a diffrent substrate and some of it is still on the rock, I dont want a mix of sand and crushed coral in my tank so I wnt all the crushed coral and other stuff off of it so my tank can be cleaner...

I would either vac it while you syphon water, or rinse it gently in a bucket of heated saltwater. :good:

Why not just use your powerhead to blow any detrirus off of the rock
