Ok, so several of the tanks I have with my bettas right now have the Whisper In-tank mini-filters, which are pretty mild for most fish but can be a little strong for bettas with long, flowing tails. I have this gorgeous orange-y colored male who has been in one for a long time now, and though he struggled at first, he is now strong and swims the currents with no problem.

So, today, I figured out that you can adjust how to strong the current is; there's this little tiny sliding thingie on the back of the filter, and it goes from really mild, so that the water is moving just slightly, to strong, which is what it was on for two of my five bettas.

Ooopsie?

I turned them both down, but they've been living in the current for months so I don't think they know what to do with milder waters  This explains why mine eat so much and are so muscular and beefy I suppose.
