I have a pair of T-Bar Cichlids, for the last 2 or 3 days they have taken to one corner of the tank and started digging into the gravel. They are not actually digging a hole, just nuzzling the floor. They don't spend all their time there, but quite a lot.
Anyway, here is a video of them doing it. It is quite a large file, and if you're on dial-up, I wouldn't bother!!! Apologies for the Big Brother on in the background, and for the poor quality; it was taken on a digital stills camera!!!
Just one other thing: I have quite a high Ph (around and usually just above 8 ), will this stop them breeding??
Thanks in advance!! :/  :S

Anyone???
Anyway, as an add on. over the last 2 days, the area they've been hanging around has actually been dug a bit now, but they're not staying exclusively in that spot.
They're still not overly aggressive, but last night I did see the male go for my common plec who is more than 3 times his size!!!! When the Plec didn't go away, the t-bar kept going in for more! Wasn't anything major and only lasted about 15 seconds, but it's the first sign of aggression I've seen. He still wasn't bothered by the tiger barbs though.
I still can't see anyeggs, but the female is now very dark with very bright yellow on her fins.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thank

It looks and sounds like they might be. My Green Terror pair have been kind of fighting here lately so I think they are about to spawn again. They have their first batch of fry still in the tank with them. My first sign that something was going on was when they started attacking everything else in the tank. A few days later I had hundreds of fry swarming about.
Good luck with them! Hopefully you have a pair there. Oh and if you do, a bit of advice, move everything else in the tank that you don't want killed out of there. They will definately destroy anything they see once they've laid eggs. My laid-back little green terrors certainly would have if I hadn't moved their former tank mates out.

Well, it looks like tey're definately gonna breed, heres a picture of the female I just took. you can just see her egg tube in it:

I don't have a spare tank to put the others in, so I'll see what happens. I'm going to get a new tank in the next week or so, so if it's really bad, I'll probably move these two into it. Fingers crossed the others stay out of the way!! :S

She laid about 200 eggs last night (check out my thread in "members aquarium pictures") and so far there have been no incidents! A clown loach did venture over into the 'danger zone' today, but he got a warning, and that was it!! Hopefully all will be OK!! :D
