I may have impulse bought a betta last night for my 10gal tank…. Before you come for me, I do have a backup plan to keep him in a separate tank if he ends up being too aggressive. But I have an exploding shrimp and ramshorn snail population and am hoping he’ll help get it under control (at least the shrimp). I also have chili rasboras in the tank. So far he hasn’t seemed interested in the chilis at all, and they don’t appear bothered or threatened by his presence either. He’s been curious about the shrimp but so far I haven’t seen him actually go after one. So 🤞

I’m curious about his coloration and wondering if it’s going to change. I don’t know a lot about betta genetics but I know that the marble gene is a thing. Those of you that know more than I do, does it look like he has marbled coloring? It’s hard to tell because his body is kind of splotchy around his head, but also very pale. He was labeled in the store just as “double tail male”
